STANDARD SPINNING

The main feature that distinguishes the standard spinning process from other spinning processes is that the thickness of the work piece remains almost constant at the end of the process.

Depending on the parameters or material involved in the spinning process, it may be observed a slight decrease in thickness.

Almost all metal materials that have the capability of plastic forming can be formed by the spinning process. For some materials, it may be necessary to pre-heat prior to spinning or heat locally during spinning.

Thicknesses of the materials that standard spinning can be done can vary from 0.5 mm to 30 mm. Their material diameters range from 10 mm to 5000 mm. It is possible to go beyond these limits with some specific processes.
