INDUSTRIAL SPINNING TECHNIQUES

Spinning techniques are examined in 5 categories according to its industrial use.

1. Standard Spinning

2. Shear Forming

3. Flow Forming

4. Necking-In

5. Profiling

We often see the examples where these five methods are used together in a process. Shear forming is generally a method used to obtain conical, cylindrical or spherical sections. In flow forming, wall thickness of conical or cylindrical parts can be reduced to the limits that the material can withstand. Necking-In process is applied to pipe type materials. The purpose is to completely or partially close the treated end of the pipe. Profiling may involve very complex steps. In profiling, processes similar to other types of spinning can be used in various steps to form the desired profile.
